Dripper Highlight: Monsoon™

DRTS Monsoon

Drippers provide the required functionality for a drip irrigation system to work optimally. A quality dripper should work within specifications, taking into account the various conditions it was designed for such as soil grade, irrigation water quality, weather phenomena and landscape morphology. However, apart from performance characteristics and features that benefit end users, a dripper should also offer advantages that also benefit drip irrigation pipe manufacturers.

The DRTS Monsoon™ dripper

The Monsoon™ dripper is a compact non pressure compensating emitter, that incorporates DRTS’ patented Omniflow™ labyrinth design, which prevents clogging by eliminating non turbulent flow and therefore the settling of suspended solid particles, often found in irrigation water. This gives Monsoon™ a set of excellent technical as well as performance characteristics, making it the dripper of choice for both manufacturer and end users alike.

Benefits for end users

Monsoon™ comes in a wide range of flow rates (1.6, 2, 4 and 8 litres per hour) covering the needs of any micro irrigation installation, where non pc drippers are required. The use of up to three separate filters for every dripper, along with its low coefficient of variation (CV<3%) make it extremely resistant to clogging, offering exceptionally high drip rate stability between drippers. Also, an increased inner diameter combined with Monsoon’s relatively short length, provide less friction pressure losses and allow for longer pipe runs. Finally, Monsoon is produced using exclusively quality virgin materials, ensuring UV and chemical resistance for a long service life.

All of these features make for a dependable dripper, allowing end users to be confident in uniform irrigation results, from a properly installed micro irrigation pipe fitted with Monsoon™ drippers.

Benefits for pipe manufacturers

Available in two different pipe diameters (12mm and 16mm) and with a compact length of just 32mm, Monsoon™ helps lower your drip irrigation pipe production cost, by allowing for high production speeds and reduced finished pipe weight. Moreover, with its increased outer diameter, Monsoon™ enables high-accuracy and higher speed perforation, coupled with prevention of coiling kinks especially for thin wall pipe production, further improving the speeds and ease of manufacture.

Lastly, Monsoon™ can be used in all DRTS round drip irrigation pipe production lines, as well as any other standard round pipe production line, making it an excellent choice for every drip irrigation pipe manufacturer.
